Our review of Oosterpark

Beautiful alternately park

The Oosterpark is a beautiful park in English style that borders the Tropenmuseum. It is approximately 12 hectares (550 metres by 220 metres) and alternately arranged. In the big pond you see ducks, geese and other birds. The Oosterpark is suitable for a stroll. In Nice weather you can picnic, sports or just lie.

Suitable for children

There are two playgrounds decorated. The outdoor pool is filled for the little ones when the weather is hot.

View 'the Scream'

You see in the Oosterpark also the sculpture 'the Scream'. That is created in response to the murder of filmmaker Theo van Gogh in 2003. Theo van Gogh was a great proponent of freedom of expression. His death has shocked the Netherlands.

Tthere are also alcoholics present

The Oosterpark is also visited by groups of alcoholics. These cause no nuisance. And you will not notice them, but it is obviously not really pleasant.
