Our review of Skinny Bridge

Most famous bridge of Amsterdam

The Skinny Bridge (Magere Brug) is famous. Due to the legend about the two sisters. The two sisters lived once each on opposite sides of the river Amstel. And had to walk a pretty piece to be able to speak to each other. They therefore showed a bridge over the river Amstel between their two houses. This was a lot less walking. This bridge was rather thin. And therefore was called the Skinny Bridge.

Nice view across the river Amstel

The Skinny Bridge has since been rebuilt several times. And was also widened. Very skinny, as before, is the bridge no more. The bridge itself suggests not much of course. It's more the legend and the fact that it is an old-fashioned drawbridge, which looks old. From the Skinny Bridge, you have a beautiful view across the river Amstel. The Skinny Bridge is beautifully lit in the evening.
