Our review of Civic Guards Gallery

Huge paintings

This free accessible corridor is part of the Amsterdam Museum. You'll see huge paintings with portraits of shooters (vigilantes) from the 16th and 17th centuries. Hence the name Civic Guards Gallery. The best painting in this genre is Rembrandt's Night watch and is unfortunately in the Rijksmuseum. Also you can see modern paintings, creating a nice mix arises with the old paintings.

Surprising corridor

It is a surprising corridor. Not something you expect in the middle of the city. If you're in the neighborhood here, it is a shame not to take a walk to the Civic guards gallery. It is worth and yet free also.
